Giving Back Through Pari Cosmetics
At Pari Cosmetics, we created Pari With Purpose as a way to give back beyond our products. It reflects our belief that a brand should also take responsibility for the world around it. Through this initiative, we focused on supporting animal welfare by preparing and distributing food to street animals and by supporting a local animal shelter.
Preparing the Meals
We began the day by carefully preparing the food. All ingredients, including rice, vegetables, and meat, were cleaned and double-checked multiple times to ensure proper hygiene and quality. We wanted to be certain that every meal was safe and suitable for the animals.
The cooking process took several hours. It was important for us to ensure that the meals were not only filling, but also safe and able to make a real difference for the animals who rely on them.
Packing and Organizing Distribution
Once the food was ready, we packed it into containers to make distribution easier and more efficient. Portions were prepared thoughtfully so each animal would receive a proper meal. We also prepared food for cats, ensuring they were included as well.
After packing, we divided into smaller groups to cover different locations.
Feeding Across the City
We distributed food across several areas, including Naranthan, Hattigauda, Tokha, Kapan, and Boudha. Many of the dogs we encountered were clearly hungry and cautious. Some ran at first, startled by our presence, likely due to past trauma or mistreatment. Others kept their distance, unsure if the food offered was safe.
Despite their fear, many dogs stayed nearby, hesitant but drawn by the hope of a meal. Some would keep their distance, watching us cautiously, while others slowly approached when they realized the food and the people behind it were safe. Seeing them finally eat, their tension easing just a little, was one of the most powerful moments of the day. It reminded us that even small acts of care can make a meaningful difference for animals who have experienced hardship and learned to be wary of humans. By the end of the day, we had fed over 200 street dogs, ensuring that each one received proper nourishment.
Visit to SPCA Nepal
Alongside street feeding, we also visited SPCA Nepal. Some of us were already at the shelter, helping with meal preparation and assisting where needed, while others joined after completing their feeding routes. The shelter was home to many dogs, each with a different story.
Some of the dogs had missing legs due to past injuries. Others were partially paralyzed and unable to move freely. A few were undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer. Despite their conditions, they remained calm, gentle, and trusting. Many of them still came forward for food, wagging their tails or quietly waiting their turn.
Feeding them was not just about providing a meal. It was about giving attention, presence, and care, even if only for a short time. We spent time observing them, understanding the shelter’s work, and learning about the long-term care and effort required to support animals in such conditions. Being there made us fully aware of the importance of consistent support and responsible action.
Closing
By the end of the day, we were physically tired, but the experience stayed with us. Knowing that many animals, both on the streets and at the shelter, were fed and cared for made the effort meaningful.
What stood out most was the loyalty and resilience of these animals. Even after experiencing injury, illness, or abandonment, they continue to trust humans and respond with affection. Their strength and patience reminded us why this initiative matters.
